DTC, Rajawadi Hospital
The Drug Treatment Clinic (DTC) was started at Rajawadi Hospital in March 2016 as an Out-Patient Clinic with a view of treating patients from all strata of society with substance use disorders. We are a team of a Medical officer, a Counselor and a Staff Nurse working under the supervision and guidance of our Nodal officer. Our refurbished DTC OPD is right next to Psychiatry OPD which is an added advantage, making sure that the patients get registered and avail the benefits under the scheme. The drug treatment centre works in close association with the psychiatric set up to cover the comorbid factors. At Rajawadi Hospital we have a 10 bedded Male Psychiatry Ward for admissions, if any. The centre is open 6 days a week from 9 am to 4 pm.
We have more than 900 patients registered with us currently. These include patients of all genders, ages, socio-economic strata and suffering from a range of substance use disorders. At our centre, all round the year, Syrup Methadone is made available to our Patients as part of Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST). Apart from pharmacological interventions, psychosocial intervention is also provided at the centre. We provide Individual Counseling, Group Counseling Sessions as well as Counseling for Caregivers as to their role in the rehabilitation of the Patient and the family unit as a whole. Alcoholic Anonymous Meetings as well as a Tobacco Cessation Counselor are also available at our set up.
